Taking Part Safely
If hosting your own event, you are responsible for obtaining any required permissions from landowners, councils, or the PSNI, and for ensuring your event is safe for all participants.
Why Take Part?
When you take part in the Shelter NI Satellite Sleep Out, you're helping us do much more than raise awareness.
Funds raised through the Satellite Sleep Out will support the life-changing work of both the SLATE and GABLE projects across Omagh, Derry/Londonderry and Strabane.
Through SLATE, donations will help provide support to young people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or struggling to sustain their accommodation, helping them develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed to live independently. Funds will also support practical assistance for young people moving into or maintaining their homes.
Through GABLE, fundraising helps sustain our Helping Hands Scheme, which provides essential practical support to older people and people with disabilities who often have no access to statutory services for small household tasks and maintenance. This service helps vulnerable people remain safe, independent and connected within their own homes and communities.
By taking part in the Satellite Sleep Out, you will be helping us support some of the most vulnerable members of our community, preventing homelessness, reducing isolation, and improving quality of life for people of all ages across the North West.
For the people we support, this isn't just about services. It's about dignity. It's about belonging. It's about knowing that someone cares.
By giving up one night of comfort, you're helping someone else build a brighter future. Together, we can ensure more people have the support, stability, and hope they need to thrive.
